The PUBLIC Silo Trail is a partnership between FORM, CBH Group and Western Power and is supported by a grant from the Australian Government through the Building Better Regions Fund and Lotterywest. The project will ultimately create a trail drawing visitors to regional WA, raising its profile and boosting cultural tourism. This is the fourth giant mural by famous street artists to pop up on grain silos across Western Australia as part of the PUBLIC Silo Trail, a creative project by FORM celebrating the State’s regions. She’s coming to life in red, gold and grey. Morphing two of the most extraordinary creatures of the ocean, both rare and exclusive to the coastal waters of south- western Australia, Albany’s seadragon has the bright red hue of the ruby seadragon and the gossamer tendrils of its leafy cousin. She’s inspired by the wild coast of Western Australia, where a new species of seadragon has just been discovered, stunning the scientific community and conservationists across the world. A secret of the sea, literally invisible to the untrained eye, this myth-like creature rendered 35 metres high by street artists Yok and Sheryo marks the south-westernmost edge of Australia and celebrates what’s beyond it. A soaring, subaqueous mural taking form across the giant silos at CBH Group’s Albany Grain Terminal.
